The Potential of the Built Environment

Built environments are nothing without the people that live, work, and learn in them. Acoustic design is not the most visual aspect of a completed building and yet it greatly improves the occupants’ comfort, enjoyment, and productivity. I find great reward by stepping into our clients’ thought process at the project start to fully understand their concerns, help them make well-informed decisions, and later hear their appreciation of the finished product. My design experience includes all types of residential and commercial spaces including offices, technical facilities, and research laboratories. My area of expertise is building and ground borne vibration, environmental impact analysis, and community master planning support.

Dedicated to the Craft

My father always taught me to develop creative solutions to any problem I encountered and to enjoy getting my hands dirty. This developed into a long-lasting interest in woodworking: I find joy designing one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that improve the living environments of family and friends. I also used to spend school summers working in the construction industry marveling at the incredible structures that could arise from teamwork. Later, my interest in loudspeaker system design introduced me to the world of electronics, mechanics, aesthetic values, and entrepreneurship. Almost two decades after finding my niche in acoustical engineering, my work never feels stale thanks to the ever-changing variety of projects and valued relationships with clients.
