Hilton Union Square Ballroom
San Francisco, CA
Our firm consulted on the technology and acoustical design for the renovation of 35 meeting rooms as well as the Continental Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco’s Union Square. Salter technology consultants provided a modern telecommunications infrastructure that provides wired and wireless network access throughout all renovated spaces. We also developed infrastructure for audio and video systems that support up to 10 events simultaneously. Multimedia cabling is routed via a cable tray system hidden in the accessible, ornate ceiling. The audio and video equipment coupled with acoustical finishes and quiet HVAC systems provide a state-of the art facility.
Salter also collaborated with the structural engineer to provide a spring-isolated unistrut grid to support and isolate ballroom infrastructure from vibration generated by the parking garage above. Acoustical issues included abating noise from the parking garage, mechanical system noise control, and room acoustics.
