DeTurk Round Barn
Santa Rosa, CA
Originally built as a horse stable in 1891, the DeTurk Round Barn was renovated in 2011 as a museum and event center. For the design team, maintaining the historic integrity of the structure was of the utmost importance while bringing it up to code. Technology was integrated in a way that would not detract from the rustic look and feel of the venue. The building features a curved, image-blended projection screen, as well as digital displays, distributed audio throughout, and custom finishes, resulting in a modernized multipurpose space that pays homage to its 19th-century roots. Currently, it is used on a rental basis for weddings, classes, and other events, and is one of just two completely round barns in California.
