Thompson Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel in the vibrant Gulch district of Nashville. Our goal was to help create a quiet, peaceful environment for the penthouse guest suites despite the busy rooftop restaurant and bar directly above. As a creative solution, we specified a floating concrete slab for the entire restaurant floor and designed a resiliently-attached ceiling assembly for the guest rooms below. Salter also consulted on room acoustics and architectural noise control and conducted analysis for HVAC noise and vibration reduction. Our client now enjoys the best of both worlds: serene penthouse rooms and a popular rooftop restaurant in the same vicinity.
