Armand Hammer Museum Billy Wilder Theater
Los Angeles, CA
The Billy Wilder Theater is a 295-seat screening room and performance venue at UCLA’s Armand Hammer Museum. Situated on the courtyard level, this versatile theater is built to the highest standards of film and video projection. It accommodates technologies dating from the early 1900s to the present, including delicate nitrate film and modern digital formats. The theater stage features flexible sound and lighting systems designed to support lectures, readings, conversations, concerts, and other activities. Salter consulted on the room acoustics, ventilation system, and sound isolation to reduce noise transmission from the museum above, parking below, and adjacent streets.
