A.C.T. Strand Theater
San Francisco, CA
For the renovation of an unused 1917 San Francisco movie theater into a second stage for the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), Salter helped the design team with acoustical, telecommunications, and security consulting. The modern performing arts center features a three-story lobby, cafe, and proscenium theater seating up to 175 in cabaret format and 283 in traditional format. For a more intimate experience, the black box theater seats up to 120. The 20,000 square foot multi-purpose venue was completed in 2015.
